So why a pH Training Center? What makes pH's Training Center different than any other one out there? Good questions...
1. PRICE - pH classes are affordable, and will stay at $150 the entire time - every level, every teacher, $150.
2. CLASS SIZE - pH classes will NEVER have more than 12 people in a class. 10 is the ideal number for us. We want every student to get the most out of their training so its important to us we keep the size small so the instructor can really focus on each of you. Classes run for 8 weeks.
OK those were the easy ones...
3. GREAT TEACHERS - You are going to get teachers that have been teaching the art of improv for a long time, and teachers who are EXCITED to share with you. No grumpy teachers, no teachers who are doing this to make a quick buck...teachers who are experts in their field, and more importantly they are masters in the pH style of improvisation.
4. CURRICULUM - the most important one! The pH Training Center curriculum was developed by the artistic directors and the teaching staff...all of whom have been trained at Second City, iO, The Annoyance, etc. We have taken those classes, they are great. You don't need to take them AGAIN. You will not be paying $150 to rehash ideas you have already studied. We have worked very hard to make our classes unique and to teach you a fresh, new approach to improvisation. Our classes are meant to help improve your skillsets and add to your craft. Check out the Classes section to get a glimpse as to what we offer for each level, we promise you that you are going to be challenged and learn something completely new that will really help you on whatever stage you decide to play on.
5. PERFORMANCES - pH offers a class graduation show after every level, and an 8 week run for our level 5 students when they finish the program. We want to get you on stage a lot and get you to start practicing what you are learning, otherwise why are you learning it? We also will be observing these shows to possibly tap students for the pH General Ensemble*. So you are getting seen by the artistic directors of a major Chicago comedy theater...a lot...that's always good.
